The Fields Between Us is a study of the agricultural landscape of rural Wales. The images for this project were made during the winter of 2024/2025. I had just moved to the area - a move motivated by a desire to find solitude and create space and distance between myself and some trauma i’d experienced at that time.

In the bleak winter landscape, the quietness and solitude I was searching for, in many ways, was found in the subject matter I was photographing. My photo walks became ritualistic, therapeutic, cathartic, and the images I made seemed to echo my feelings during that time.

Having grown up on my grandparent’s farm in North Wales, and now, in 2026, witnessing the struggles of farmers in Wales, this portrait of a hard, unforgiving landscape feels somehow poignant.
